About Danny Baker
I have over 49 years of experience in practicing the art of magic and in providing theater performances. I was a professional magician in Maine, but a few years ago, I moved to Colorado to continue my career. Backed by my skills and knowledge, I ensure to make your event the talk of the town with mind-blowing shows.
I find it interesting and rewarding to be able to meet people from everywhere.
Providing “a panoply of prestidigitation”, I present 30 to 90 minutes of magic and illusion coupled with outrageous comedy and intense audience participation. A magical tour de force!
During a European show tour, I logged over 70,000 km in one week, performing as many as five shows a day all while riding on a train! I am renowned for offering award-winning magic. Additionally, while in the Air Force, I entered several command level talent shows.
My creative magic, mystery, and mayhem have earned me high marks. I won against traditional singers and dancers. I was the vice president of the Charlestown mystics ring number 234 of The International Brotherhood of Magicians from 1993 to 1994. I am the past president of ring number 362 of The International Brotherhood of Magicians in Bangor, Maine.
I placed first in the Chung Ling Soo Stage Magic Contest in May 2009 and received a gold medal at the National Veterans Creative Arts Festival 2020. I have performed with the Absolute Dance and Performing Arts Company, playing the part of Herr Drosselmeyer in The Nutcracker Ballet in 2018, 2019, and 2020.
I am also a master magical instructor. I offer motivational and educational encouragement programs such as “Just say no to drugs!”, the self-esteem program called “Yes I can!”, and “Be a Buddy, Not a Bully!” programs for children, from pre-K to 8th grade.
I have also taught close-up magic for adult beginners in South Carolina at the Bethune Community Center as part of the Charleston County Community Education Program. I have worked with the Summer Festival of the Arts in Bar Harbor, Maine.
I look forward to many more years of magic and theater performances, entertaining as many people as possible.
